Window Films - Safety, Tinting and Solar
What is Window Film?
Window film is a multi-layered, optically clear polyester, sputter-coated with exotic metals including titanium, stainless steel, copper, gold, silver and aluminum. Depending on the combination of metals used and the density of construction, these films can greatly enhance the performance of your glass.
Normally applied to the internal face and constructed with a scratch-resistant coating this advanced technology film will provide years of maintenance free benefits.
Simart address many of the problems associated with glass without losing its primary benefit - you can see through it.
Solar Control Window Film
Save up to 35% of winter heat loss by creating a Low 'E' surface. Reduce heat gain by up to 79%. Eliminate up to 90% of the glare. There are over 60 different types of film in various colours and shades; some Solar Control Window Film non-reflective, some highly reflective, some are virtually un-noticeable. Tinted window film improves the appearance of your building dramatically, improving staff morale as well as building efficiency and raising your profile. Use of space becomes more efficient as hot spots or cold spots are eliminated. Heating and cooling costs, as well as the efficiency, are improved.
Safety Window Film
Safety is a prime concern especially where young, infirm or disabled people are concerned. These Safety Window Films hold glass together in the event of breakage thereby preventing serious injury. The Health and Safety Executive have issued regulations regarding the safety of glass [Document L24 - Regulation 14 - Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare amended in 1995] which affects all glass in 'critical locations' and compliance is mandatory. Safety film satisfies this requirement by surpassing BS6206 Classes A, B and C as well as the European standard 'Cen12600'
Bomb Blast Protective Film
Sad to say in the world we live in, bomb explosions are a real and terrifying possibility. Flying glass within the vicinity is often the cause of major injury. Bomb-blast protective film absorbs the high pressures involved holding all of the dangerous shards together. There are many grades of film available depending upon the risk. These films can be combined with a 'wet-glaze' system or even a 'frame anchorage' system to increase the levels of protection.
Security Film
Glass is the weakest part of a building and is vulnerable to terrorists, vandals and burglars. A range of security films resist impact, forming an invisible barrier to prevent unwanted intrusion. Security films can be combined with solar and glare reducing properties if desired.
Fade Reducing Film - Furnishing
Exposure to direct sunlight can cause much damage to coloured or painted materials including works of art. Fading is caused by ultra-violet light, visible light and infra-red radiation. Indoor lighting, humidity and dye anchorage systems also have a part to play. UV light, visible light and heat all pass through glass causing 90% of the fading problems to property in homes, offices, shops and museums. A range of fade protection window films filters out more than 99% of harmful radiation with little or no loss of light.
Obscuring and Privacy Film
When you need the light but not the prying eyes, privacy window films are the answer. From acid etched appearance to one-way mirror to solid colour, Simart Window Tinting have films for all situations. This range of films is particularly useful in office environments where glass partitioning is used.
